Water droplets adhering to the surface of the plastic can cause fogging, which can obstruct light transmission (in transparent packaging applications, agricultural films). Anti-fogging compounds prevent fogging and modify the hydrophillic characteristics of the plastic surface. Following the addition of these chemicals, the water droplets transform into a homogeneous, clear layer of water, improving the plastic's transparency and lessening the clouding impact.
